We Leave Out Synthetic Fragrance—On Purpose
Fragrance is everywhere in personal care. It’s expected. It’s comforting. It sells.
But synthetic fragrance is also one of the most common irritants in skincare and body products—and one of the least transparent ingredients allowed under labeling laws. A single word (“fragrance”) can represent dozens of undisclosed chemicals.
We choose not to include it.
Instead, when scent is present, it comes from thoughtfully chosen essential oils or botanical extracts used at gentle levels—or not at all. Many of our products are intentionally low-scent or scent-free because we believe skincare should support your nervous system, not overwhelm it.
This matters for sensitive skin. It matters for children. It matters for those navigating hormonal shifts, allergies, migraines, or simply craving safer, quieter rituals.
We Say No to Unnecessary Fillers
There are plenty of ingredients that make products cheaper, shelf-stable, or faster to manufacture—but don’t actually benefit the skin or body long-term.

We choose to let the product stand on its own, without an extra layer of packaging that doesn’t meaningfully serve you or the planet.

Urban Oreganics began as a response to my own desire for less—less noise, less irritation, less excess—and more care, more honesty, and more intention.
