As a devoted vegan, to say I am health conscious would be an understatement. But eating healthy is just one piece of the puzzle. While pregnant with my first child in 2013, I read that it takes 26 seconds for the toxins in our skin care products to absorb into the bloodstream, and vowed to make a change - for myself and my little one. That's how Urban Oreganics came to life, and I've never looked back. Read my full story here.

In 2018 I had a 2 year old, a 5 year old, and a business that was growing every single day. It wasn't sustainable alone. I had held down the fort for five years solo, and after two years of very seriously considering it (and working with me on nights and weekends), my husband Cory finally quit his budding banking career to join me.

Fast forward to 2023... our kids were older, business had slowed down, and our needs had changed. So Cory started the next chapter of his professional life at a local marketing firm. He gave UO 110%, but it was never his calling, it was mine. While it was a bittersweet end of an era, he's enjoying normal working hours, paid holidays, and employer health insurance (IYKYK).

He still pops in to help me occasionally. And in the meantime, he's in our home office right next to me every day, while we each pursue our own passions, separately, but side by side.
